Dr. Yvette Pegues is the personification of joy, grit, advancement, faith, advocacy, accessibility, and passion through an inspirational, physical, emotional, and lasting journey. She has defied all odds and continues to achieve. She does this not for herself, but for the millions of voices who have been silent or ignored; as an example, for her children, proving that there is no weapon formed against them that is strong enough to stop them from reaching the heights of their dreams; and for the public, corporations, educational institutions, travel and entertainment facilities worldwide that need to reimagine and reconfigure their spaces to become truly inclusive and accessible for all. Her extraordinary journey from humble beginnings to becoming a beacon of inspiration and success serves as a testament to the fact that our circumstances do not define us; rather, our response to those circumstances is what truly matters. Dr. Yvette’s life story is a testament to the transformative power of faith, perseverance, and unwavering belief in the mission and consequence of inaction.

Through interviews, personal narratives, and archival footage, this masterfully produced film explores the extraordinary journey from near defeat to triumph and the incomparable spirit that drives her efforts toward tearing down barriers and creating a more inclusive society for the tens of millions of people that are directly or indirectly faced with a lifestyle impacted by disabilities. We have been afforded unprecedented access into Dr. Yvette’s world; from mother and wife to training corporate leaders, playing golf, to scuba diving, rock climbing, and beauty pageants. Her unwavering determination, coupled with her unyielding commitment to inclusivity, has transformed the lives of countless individuals with disabilities.
